Patna. In Bihar, the unity of the Left parties has also been broken after the unity of the Grand Alliance in the by-elections in five assembly and one Lok Sabha seats. In Daronda Assembly seat of Siwan district, where the CPI-ML and CPI are fielding their candidates against each other, the unity of the Left parties has been severed. The funny thing is that the Left parties talk about supporting the candidate of the Grand Alliance, but reject the support of the candidate of the other left party. In this by-election, the CPI has fielded Bharat Singh in Daronda, Sudhir Sharma in Nathnagar and Feroze Alam in Kishanganj. Barring these three seats, it has decided to support RJD candidates in the remaining two seats – Simri Bakhtiyarpur and Belhar.

In Samastipur Lok Sabha seat, the three major Left parties CPI-ML, CPI and CPI-M have announced their support to Congress candidate Dr. Ashok Kumar. CPI Male has made Jaishankar Pandit his candidate from Daronda. However, the CPI (M) has decided to support the CPI-ML candidate here. CPI-ML state secretary Kunal, in a conversation with IAANS, admitted that the unity of the left parties was lacking. However, he also said that the homework of the Left parties in the by-election could not be done as much as was needed. He said that Daronda has been his traditional seat.

On the decision of the other Left parties not to support the candidates, he said, “The CPI has fielded its candidates in several seats on their own free will.” Our priority is to defeat the BJP, JD (U), in which case the party has decided to support a strong candidate. ”He said that the party would support the Grand Alliance candidate in all other seats. The CPI-M does not have a single candidate in this by-election. The party had fielded candidates in Nathanagar, but the scrutiny of nomination papers canceled the nomination form. All seats are to be voted on October 21 and counting on October 24.

CPI state secretary Satyanarayana Singh also expressed regret that the leftist parties had suffered a setback in the by-election. “Our party will support RJD in Belhar and Simri Bakhtiarpur assembly seats, while Congress will stand in favor of candidate in Samastipur Lok Sabha seat,” he said. Has In such a situation, our party is supporting candidates who are capable of defeating BJP and JD (U) candidates. ”
