Mathura: An accused Faisal Khan has been arrested on Monday after allegedly nabbing a prayer in the Nandababa temple complex of Nandgaon in Mathura, UP. Earlier, the temple sevayat had lodged a police report against four, including two in the case.
According to reports, Faisal Khan and Chand Mohammed offered namaz at the temple while two others – Alok Ratan and Nilesh Gupta – clicked their pictures, which aired on social media. The incident took place on October 29 at around 12.30 pm at the Nand Baba temple in Nandgaon.
The FIR was lodged on Sunday night on the basis of a complaint by Mukesh Goswami, Shivhari Goswami and Kanha. According to the FIR, the four are members of an organization in Delhi called ‘Khudai Khidmatgar’.
The FIR states that Khan and Mohammed offered namaz without taking permission from the temple authorities or informing them. “Their act has hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community. We are concerned that these photographs are not misused or there is any foreign funding behind the incident. It should also be examined whether the motive of this act is communal,” the FIR said. The tension was to spread. “
The accused have been booked under sections 153-A, 295 and 505 of the Indian Penal Code. The Uttar Pradesh Police has deployed additional force in the area as a precautionary measure.
