Jammu: Ultimately, the security forces were successful in killing the top commander of Jaish-e-Mohammad. Wilayat Lone alias Sajjad Afghani, the top commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed, was killed in an encounter that had been going on for the last three days at Rawalpora in Shopian. IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar himself confirmed this and termed it a major success of the security forces. He said that two terrorists have been killed so far in this encounter that has been going on for 72 hours in Rawalpora.
Operation is still going on. The encounter began on Saturday night in Rawalpora, Shopian. Till late night, attempts were made to surrender the terrorists. But the terrorists refused to surrender. Meanwhile, a terrorist was killed by security forces on Sunday morning.
The security forces had blown up the house to get the terrorists out of the house, but the other terrorists managed to escape from there. While the security personnel were chasing the terrorists, some mischievous elements present in the area also tried to influence their operation but the security forces chased them away.
