Washington: An American research has claimed that up to 80 percent protection from corona infection occurs two weeks after taking the first shot of Covid-19 Vaccine prepared by BioNTech and Pfizer. Two weeks after taking the second shot, the risk of corona infection decreases by 90 percent. This study has been done on about 4 thousand American health workers.
The results of this study reinforce earlier claims that it started working only after the first dose of the vaccine was taken. Apart from this, it is also confirmed that the vaccine is also effective in preventing infection without symptoms. The study studied 3950 participants in six US states for 14 weeks between 14 December 2020 and 13 March 2021. 74 percent of the people involved in the study were given at least one shot and were tested every week to detect an infection without symptoms. This study has been done in real world use.

Earlier, companies had studied clinical trials to prevent the vaccine’s effective ability to prevent disease, but it did not study the vaccine’s ability to prevent untreated infections. The CDC says that it is clear from the study that even after taking the first dose, people get protection against the corona virus. However, the CDC has insisted that only after taking both doses of the vaccine will there be better protection.
