Kathmandu: The Supreme Court of Nepal has set aside the decision to dissolve Parliament for the second time. The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court overturned the dissolution of Parliament and decided to restore Parliament. The Supreme Court has ordered the appointment of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the next Prime Minister. This decision has been taken after KP Sharma Oli dissolved the Parliament.
KP Sharma Oli, who is running the minority government, has suffered a major setback due to the decision of the Nepalese Supreme Court. Recently he also lost the trust vote in Parliament. A five-member Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court on Monday also ordered the appointment of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister within two days. A bench headed by Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana concluded the hearing in the matter last week. The bench also includes four other senior-most judges of the Supreme Court, Deepak Kumar Karki, Meera Khadka, Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Dr Anand Mohan Bhattarai.
