Speculations being made about the entry of Tamil film superstar Rajinikanth in politics came to an end today. Superstar Rajinikanth had said before a meeting with fans today that he would discuss with the members of Rajini Makkal Mandram about his future entry into politics, though Rajinikanth later said that he has no plans to enter politics. He also informed about the dissolution of Rajni Makkal Mandaram. Its members will continue to be members of the Rajinikanth Fan Club Association, which will be involved in public service.
About six months ago, Rajinikanth had announced not to join politics in December 2020. Shortly before this, he had announced his entry into politics and said that he would make announcements related to it by the end of the year 2020 i.e. December 31, but on December 29, he distanced himself from it due to health reasons. However, he also said that even without entering politics, he would continue to work for the betterment of the people. A few days before Rajinikanth took this decision, he was admitted due to blood pressure problem during the shooting of a Tamil film. Two days after being discharged from the hospital, he had announced to stay away from politics.
