Lucknow: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to follow the footsteps of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh by organising the “Brahman Sammelan” also known as enlightened class conference in all 403 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh to woo the Brahmin voters before 2022 UP assembly elections.
These conferences are scheduled to start from September 5th and will be held till September 20 across the state. Subrata Pathak the state general secretary and campaign in-charge of these conclaves, told media that the enlightened people from across the strata of the society will be participating in these conference organized by the party.
BJP is eyeing to consolidate its Brahmin vote bank, which is around 13 percent in the state and was loyal to the party after relinquishing Congress; as core voter since 1991 after the RamMandir movement. Political analysts of the state are in view that BJP may hardly face any stiff challenge even after farmer’s resentment and covid mismanagement in the state; since opposition in UP are in disarray and apart from SP all the political parties are in dire-straits and unable to give a fight back to the incumbent saffron party govt. It was validated by the fact that since 2014 general elections BJP has maintained nearly 40 percent vote share in UP and it remained intact till 2019 elections as well in the state; even after SP and BSP formed “ Mahagatbandhan” once touted as the invincible alliance as per caste equation of the state.
