Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a Congress lawmaker, blasted the Yogi Adityanath administration on Monday over the state of ‘gaushalas’ (cow shelters) in Uttar Pradesh, and wondered if Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold the state government accountable. Her action was sparked by news reports that said cows from a ‘gaushala’ in Banda had been buried alive.

On Saturday, 134 cows and other livestock were evacuated from the makeshift ‘gaushala’ in Naraini and transferred to four other temporary cow shelters, according to Banda District Magistrate Anurag Patel. A publication released a storey on these animals being buried alive in the Madhya Pradesh jungle on Monday. A government employee in Uttar Pradesh has been suspended in connection with the suspected buried alive of cows and other livestock. Ms Gandhi also chastised the government for the CBSE Exam’s backward sexist question material. The Class 10 English test was administered on December 11 by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The board referred the problem to subject specialists after a question from Section A (Reading) stirred criticism for allegedly encouraging “gender stereotyping” and supporting “regressive beliefs.”
