Inspiring snack startup that develops relationships with farmers

Today, we will take you to an inspiring tale of a Bengaluru-based snack startup that thought of building relationships with farmers.

Y-Cook co-founded by Gayathri Swahar is an innovative food startup that is all set to revolutionize and find a way for the future of food.

Consumers, these days, are on the lookout for yummy tasting products that also provides health and easy to purchase.

The company’s pre-cooked products follow special processes as the crops are picked and packaged within hours of harvest.

Also, the processes followed ensure that freshness, taste, texture, colour and nutrients of field fresh produce are maintained.

The snack brand makes it easy to eat healthy home-cooked meals in the best way possible.

Not only did Y-Cook emerge as a sustainable business model but it also created a great bonding with the farmers.

Y-Cook introduced the farmers to Global GAP, which is a worldwide standard for good agricultural practices.

Now around a fifth of the 2,832 farmers providing sweet corn, chickpea, rajma, peanuts, tuvar dal, sweet potato and tapioca to the startup have GAP certification.

Working directly with small and marginal farmers has helped the company to develop a direct relationship with farmers, which is vital for startup innovations.
