New Delhi: The debate over the privacy of users on this chat platform is continuing between WhatsApp’s new privacy policy. Meanwhile another new information has been revealed. In fact, recently, WhatsApp groups were once again appearing in Google search. This means that any such private group can search Google and join it.
The first information about this came earlier in 2019. This was later corrected. Apart from this, another similar problem has started appearing once again. Under this, any user’s profile could be seen in the search.
Due to this, the phone number and profile photo of WhatsApp user could also be seen in the search. Apart from this, posts of group members can also be seen in Google search.
According to the report of Gadget 360, after searching the WhatsApp group in Google, any person can not only become a part of that group without permission, but can see the things there, including the phone number of the members involved in it.
The leak of security related to WhatsApp groups in Google search was first revealed in November-2019. A security researcher told Facebook about this. Several media institutions also covered the issue, after which it was rectified.
On behalf of WhatsApp, it has been said that since March 2020, WhatsApp has put noindex in all deep link pages. According to Google, these will not appear in the search. Also, the company has said that Google has also been asked not to do indexing.
