Prof Sangita Srivastava has been selected as the new regular Vice Chancellor of Allahabad University (AU).
The good part of the appointment is that Prof Sangita is the first woman VC of the university.
She will be taking charge of the new post from Monday. Prof Srivastava is a former head of home science department of the university.
She had joined the university as a lecturer in 1989 and has been a part of the university since then.
She became the head in 2002 and ensured that the home science department flourished well.
On June 2018, she was selected as the VC of Prof Rajendra Singh University, from which she is now relieved of the duties.
