‘Why fear elections now?: Imran Khan’s jibe at PDM

After surprising everyone in Pakistan with his political move, Imran Khan took to Twitter to say that the PDM and opposition parties ‘have been crying hoarse about how PTI govt has failed & lost people’s mandate’ and added, then why the fear of elections now?

Yesterday was a tragic day for the democratic setup of Pakistan when the incumbent govt has not only dismissed the no-confidence vote but also dissolved the national assembly through a Deputy Speaker. Since then the political parties are crying foul by saying that it was a murder of ‘democracy’ by the Imran Khan govt in Pakistan.

Since then PM Imran Khan has continued his blitzkrieg attack on the opposition and PDM alliance, which criticised Imran Khan for calling snap elections, while Imran says that he was “surprised” with their responses to dissolving the National Assembly of the parliament.

In his statement targeting Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, Imran said that he was astonished by the reaction of the PDM chief over the early general election. Since Rehman has called Khan a “fraud” after the deputy speaker dismissed the no-confidence motion.

Echoing the claims made earlier, Khan has written on Twitter that the opposition alliance has been crying hoarse about how the PTI govt has failed & lost mandate of the people”, is now fearing the early elections.

Earlier, on Sunday the Deputy Speaker of the lower house, Qasim Suri termed the no-confidence motion against the PTI govt as “unconstitutional”, stating that was orchestrated by “foreign powers”.
