New Delhi: India’s export has touched a new high of $418 billion in the financial year 2021-22 with the support of the commodities and services sector. He was speaking to the media about the country’s export numbers.
He said that during the FY 2021-22, about $30 billion in export was done on a monthly basis, these numbers speak for themselves since this was achieved despite the second and third Covid-19 pandemic wave. He said that the engineering goods exports hit a record high of $111 billion, out of that around $16 billion were shipped to the USA alone.

He further added, that export reached to $40 billion mark in the month of March, which is a record in itself. We have never achieved such huge exports growth in this month. Everybody together from farmers to the MSME sector has chipped in to achieve this export number.
Piyush Goel also mentioned about the newly released movie ‘RRR’ in his address, which has achieved the same feat by doing the business of Rs 750 crores which is one of the highest in the history of Indian cinema. Indian economy is also looking forward to breaking all such records. India has all the potential to make any target possible.
“Farmers and agriculture sector is the main contributor this year. With the help of farmers, India has produced record cereals output. This year wheat exports have risen by 2 lakh tonnes in 2019-20 to 21.55 lakh tonnes in the previous year and to over 70 lakh tonnes in the year 2021-22,” the Commerce Minister said.

Similar export target is also recorded in jute, textiles, leather, gems & jewellery along with other labour-intensive sectors.
