The Uttar-Pradesh government is soon to initiate six new viral testing centers to counter hepatitis b and hepatitis c. The initiative was appreciated when Uttar Pradesh deputy Chief minister Brajesh Pathak did an announcement for the same.
Pathak was quoted while saying” The testing will be free of cost”. The program to control the disease was initiated in 2017. According to the information received there are about eighty-one viral treatment centers in the state, including five state labs and seven viral load laboratories.
Pathak further said that there is a necessity to improve the treatment and testing facilities in the state, this was the main reason behind the starting of new centers.
According to the information received by Dr. Abhishek Shukla, secretary-general, of the Association of International Doctors claimed that the viral load of hepatitis refers to the amount of virus present in the bloodstream, thus it is necessary to detect the disease at an early stage to stop it from affecting the body adversely.
According to the official data around thirty thousand patients were registered for the treatment of hepatitis C and among them, around sixteen thousand have been successfully treated.
Among them, three thousand are undergoing treatment for hepatitis B. The symptoms of the disease include tiredness headache, nausea drowsiness, etc. The liver gets affected by the disease and tends to enlarge and get swollen.
