Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has inaugurated a two-day health ministers’ conclave organized by the Union Health Ministry on December 10 in Varanasi. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandviya was present during the inauguration. CM Yogi Adityanath will attend the conclave on the 2nd day.
Highlighting India’s success in managing the pandemic Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adianath appreciated the efforts of the medical staff. He further added that India has given a model to the world for pandemic management and vaccination.
The event was attended by health ministers of various states. State officials, including, National Health Mission directors, Director Health and medical officers from various states, and national experts of Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs) have also participated in the conclave.
Universal Health Coverage aims for all people to have access to health services of sufficient quality to be effective while also ensuring that people do not suffer financial hardship when paying for these services.
As part of the conclave, there were three ministerial sessions on the implementation of Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) and 15th Finance Commission grants for health, disease elimination, and implementation of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PMJAY) and distribution of PMJAY cards.
The Union Health Minister also launched operational guidelines for AB-HWCs, Tele-MANAS with training modules for community health officers, and the SASHAKT portal at the inaugural ceremony. He further felicitated the best performing states and Union Territory on the themes achievement of HWCs operationalization against a target, tele consultation, and ABHA ID generation and seeding in various health portals.
