Lakhimpur Kheri (UP): A Dalit minor was gang-raped in Mohammadi police circle in Lakhimpur city on Saturday night when she was taking food for the grandmother who lives in another house, the police said on Sunday. The girl returned home in a serious condition and related the tale of her woes to her family members.
She was rushed to a local hospital where her condition was stated to be serious. Therefore, she was admitted to a hospital in Lucknow. Her brother lodged a complaint at the local police station. According to reports, five people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
According to additional superintendent of police Arun Kumar Singh, the accused were arrested on the ground of the complaint lodged by the girl’s brother. The rapists belong to the village where the girl lives.
