The Lucknow police detained a former corporator in connection with the murder of a BJP leader on Sunday. The incident took place near the Indiranagar Metro station.

The Corporation was recognized as Alka Mishra who happens to be the wife of former DIG. She was in police custody till the 9th of December later the court marked her guilty of murder.

According to the information received a non-bailable offense was issued against her. The court is set to pass the final verdict on the case on Monday.

The victim Malti Sharma was shot dead on 7th June 2007, and her body was found lying near a ravine in the Sarvoday Nagar locality.

According to the information received property dealer Deepa Singh and constable Raj Kumar Rai were also arrested in the case. Rai has been booked for murder whereas Deepa and Alka were charged with conspiracy. Police also claimed that they have strong evidence of the constable being in constant touch with Mishra.

According to the official statement from Police, the local court held Mishra and four others guilty in the murder case on 9th December but somehow Alka managed to escape. Thus a non-bailable warrant was issued in her name.
