Lucknow: A pregnant female doctor died at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, on September 24 after giving birth to a stillborn child. In a complaint, the father of doctor Sneha Singh, Surya Kumar, alleged that she had died because of negligence by doctors at the hospital. According to reports, the management of the Queen Mary’s Hospital affiliated to the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) ordered an inquiry into the case.

Dr Singh was admitted to the hospital for pregnancy-related issues. According to Dr Sudhir Singh, spokesperson of KGMU, a high-level committee will investigate the allegations of the family, and the guilty will not be spared. According to Surya Kumar’s complaint, the pregnant doctor was admitted to the Queen Mary’s Hospital on September 20. On September 24, when Dr Singh’s conditions were deteriorating, the family members rushed to the doctors on duty at the hospital, but they ignored the family members’ concern. Child birth took place the next morning and the doctors informed us that the child was stillborn, the complainant said, adding that she too died afterwards.
