Kanpur: A further inquiry into the Bikru massacre, in which eight policemen, including a deputy superintendent-rank police officer were killed, has been handed over to the Kanpur Police Commissionerate, official sources said on Monday.
Additional director general of police Bhanu Bhaskar has been investigating the case. As the Police Commissionerate system has been set up in the state, the state government has asked joint commissioner of police Anand Prakash Tiwari to probe the case.
The chums of gangster Vikas Dubey attacked a police team which had gone to raid his residence in Bikru village on July 3, 2020.
