Weather Update: IMD forecast bad weather with thunderstorm in UP

According to the Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast provided on Sunday, scattered rains followed by thunderstorms would keep the weather frigid over Uttar Pradesh. From Tuesday forward, the weather is forecast to improve across the state.

On Sunday, Lucknow experienced a maximum day temperature of 17.5 degrees Celsius, which was five degrees below normal, and a minimum temperature of 11.2 degrees Celsius, which was three degrees above normal. 

On Monday, the state capital is predicted to reach a high of 19 degrees Celsius and a low of 10 degrees Celsius, with the potential of cloudy skies.

On Sunday, the state received an average of 2 mm of rain. Rain was reported in 34 districts in Uttar Pradesh. The rain could harm grain and tuber harvests, according to agriculture specialists. If the rain persists in the next few days, the damage might be serious.

Cold day conditions are expected in Basti, Sitapur, Kanpur, Aligarh, Kasganj, Unnao, Agra, Etah, Firozabad, and Jalaun, according to the IMD forecast.

On Sunday night and Monday, thunderstorms with lightning are extremely possible over Pratapgarh, Chandauli, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Gonda, Unnao, and Lucknow, according to the prediction.

In addition, the IMD has forecast thick fog in Uttar Pradesh in the next few days.
