Bijnor (UP): Residents of Bijnor district in Uttar Pradesh woke up to shocking news on Friday that a private was carrying out surgeries without a qualified surgeon and that a medical shop on the hospital campus was selling banned medicines. It came to light on Friday morning when a team of the district administration raided the hospital and sealed the unauthorised health centre and the medical shop, besides they lodged an FIR against the staff and owner of the health facility.

According to reports, the raid was conducted after the officials had received many complaints against the hospital and the medical store running from the campus.

According to sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Mohit Kumar the medical shop was on the campus of the illegal health centre. Many other irregularities, including no-objection certificate for fire, cropped up during the raid, so the administration registered an FIR against the hospital owner and the staff and sealed it.

Besides, a few patients, including five women who were admitted to the hospital, were shifted to the district, official sources said. The administration is ready to carry out such raids to stop the practice of playing with public health, said deputy medical officer Devidas.
