Etawah (UP): Four siblings, including a girl died and two sustained injuries on Thursday when a wall of a house caved in at Chandrapura village in Civil Lines of Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district. This was the fourth incident of wall collapse in the past 15 days.
According to the district magistrate of Etawah, Avnish Rai, four siblings, including a girl, died. The district administration will give compensation to the family according to norms, Rai said.
The children who lost their lives in the incident have been identified as Arati (five), Sinku (ten), Sonu (seven) and Abhi (eight). Their grandmother Sharda Devi (75) and Rishav (four) who sustained serious injuries has been admitted to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Hospital. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the incident.
According to reports, the Chief Minister has instructed the officials to give Rs 4 lakh to the family from the Disaster Relief Fund and provide proper treatment to the injured.
District magistrate Avnish Rai and senior superintendent of police Jaiprakash Singh monitored the rescue operation.
Four incidents of wall collapse have been reported from different parts of Uttar Pradesh in the past 15 days. Nine people were killed in Dilkusha area of Lucknow district, the capital of the state, on September 15 when heavy rainfall lashed the city. Similarly, four labourers were killed in Jal Vayu Bihar in sector 21 in Noida on September 20.
An under-construction roof of Islamia College of Commerce collapsed in UP’s Gorakhpur, but no casualties took place. Two persons lying buried under the debris were rescued.
