Agra: A fire erupted in a two-storeyed footwear godown at Jagdishpura area in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh late Monday night when a burning firecracker fell on the building, the police said on Tuesday. Just as the passers-by saw the smoke, they informed the fire services. A family living in the building was rescued, sources said, adding that the godown was gutted.
A burning rocket fell on the second of the building in which some inflammable material had been kept. Within as few minutes after the rocket feel, the flames engulfed the building. Fire brigade was informed, inspector in charge Devendera Shankar Pandey. The firemen rushed to the spot and doused the flames. There was no loss of life, he said.
