A youth uploaded a post on social media which hurt the sentiments of a particular community. Immediately after that, a group of people attacked the residence of the youth. The police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control by arresting the youth and by taking into custody some of those for pelting stones
Gonda (UP): An “objectionable” social media post sparked tension in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, the police said on Wednesday. Immediately after tension spread, the officials of the district administration plunged into action and deployed additional forces there to keep a vigil on the situation. As soon as the people came to know about it, some of them pelted stones at the house of the youth who sent the post on social media. The police said that the youth had been arrested and that the situation was under control, besides 25 people belonging to a particular group were taken into custody.
The youth’s post hurt the sentiments of a particular community and sparked anger among them. According to superintendent of police SP Tomar, the incident violence that took place in Chowk Bazaar area in the Gonda city was brought under control. A police team is camping there. The youth who owns a Chowmein shop uploaded the controversial post on Monday night.
