Uttar PradeshBJP leader writes to Yogi to start Marathi in UP schools

Date:

Mumbai: Learning Marathi will provide job opportunities to the people of Uttar Pradesh in Maharashtra, says a BJP leader from Maharashtra Kripashankar Singh. He has recently dashed off a letter to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urging him to introduce the students of his state to Marathi language that will help them get jobs in Mumbai.

The letter requested Yogi Adityanath to make Marathi an option language in secondary and secondary schools in UP. Singh is the vice president of Maharashtra BJP. He was a cabinet minister in the former Congress government in Maharashtra in 2004.

The Congress, however, took a jibe at Singh’s letter, saying that the UP government led by Yogi Adityanath has failed to create jobs for its youth. In the letter, Singh says that he has been living in Maharashtra and has noticed that those coming from UP face a lot of problems in handling the Marathi language which is required in the state government and corporations.

Elections to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and other civic bodies are going to be held in a few months from now. A majority of voters in Mumbai have roots in UP and Bihar. The Congress, a constituent of the Shiv Sena-led MVA government, said that Singh’s letter is the ‘confession of BJP’ that the UP government failed to create job opportunities. Now that the civic bodies elections are near, the BJP has exposed itself and its government in UP, the Congress said.
