Sultanpur (UP): A leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been banished from Sultanpur district for six months under the Goonda Act, the police said on Thursday. The district administration took action against vice president of the BJP’s Kisan Morcha Awadhesh Pandey. Additional district magistrate (finance and revenue) Manoj Kumar Pandey issued the order on the grounds of the reports of the local police, sources further said.
There are eight cases against Pandey, a resident of Pandeypur Surauli village in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The cases registered against at Gosainganj police station him included attempt to murder, assault and rioting. According to district president of the BJP Kisan Morcha Govind Tiwari, Awadhesh Pandey is an office-holder of the Kisan Unit.
