Lucknow: The day after senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan denied meeting the SP delegation, the member of the advisory committee to the Congress general secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Acharya Pramod Krishnam, met Azam in Sitapur jail on Monday. According to Acharya, he said Azam is a bad phase and will pass on. Congress is with him. He conveyed the message of Priyanka Gandhi too about his health and Azam said thank you in response.
Azam is in Sitapur jail for two years. He is accused of many charges including theft of books and buffalos. Azam contested the UP Legislative Assembly elections under the flag of the Samajwadi Party from the Rampur seat. Though he was in jail, then also he was able to win the seat comfortably. After the elections, Akhilesh didn’t go to Azam to meet him. It is said that it was one of the major causes of Azam’s displeasure.

One of the spokespersons of Azam said a few days ago that Azam must choose his path as Akhilesh is no more comfortable with Muslims. One after another similar allegation, Akhilesh formed committees to meet the Muslim leaders of the party, but it was too late. When the delegation reached Azam he didn’t meet them.
I asked and he was ready to meet
Acharya Pramod krishnam said that we all are seeing that the government is not behaving well toward Azam Khan. In political rivalry, he has been sent to jail. It is not good for democracy. He said that not even a bed is given to Azam in jail and he is compelled to sleep on the floor. His health is also not good. When Pramod Krishnam was asked about the political meaning of this meeting, he said Azam is a mature politician and when one is going to meet him, surely there will be political discussions too.

I can clearly say that Azam is not happy with the behavior of Akhilesh Yadav. He added, I presented him the holy book Geeta, a book of victory and war and he presented be Khajoor in return. I offered him to visit Kalkidham once he released from jail.
