Akhilesh Yadav tweeted that the way a woman sub-inspector of backward caste in Amethi was forced to commit suicide after caste mental harassment by police officers of the so-called dominant caste is a very sad and condemnable incident. According to media reports, Shivpal Singh Yadav and Azam Khan may join BJP, as Shivpal Singh had met CM Yogi Adityanath in the past. However, till now both the leaders have not issued any statement regarding joining BJP.
