Sunshine Sundays with BuzinessBytes: Why is it okay to walk slowly but...

Date:

Walking slowly has many benefits that you won’t understand unless you walk the path. It is important to know what you are up to in your life rather than walking on a path that leads to no destination. Yes, it is true that nothing happens as per planned always. Like you cannot determine your future exactly, this year you would win or lose all depends on your situation and surroundings as well. At times, people who plan and prepare a lot for success also tend to fail, recent examples of big-budget movies like Shamshera, Laal Singh Chaddha, and Liger are all real-life examples of how success cannot work as per your wish always.

Why walk on the path shown by Lord Krishna?

Instead of thinking that you have to attain a particular target in a certain timeframe always, why don’t you loosen up a little? You may consider planning for your short-term and long-term goals but keep it realistic as much as possible. Say, you think you will get a job in Dubai after 20 years of slogging in reputed companies in India, how about keeping that goal as much realistic as possible? Like you can include short-term goals and tick them off as and as your application starts getting noticed in the Dubai industry.

It is okay to walk slowly and think that your goals will be settled eventually rather than taking the leap and leading nowhere. As you already know whenever you hear the word “slow”, you may imagine the story of a tortoise and a rat. Yes, the tortoise won at the end of the race because he believed that he can walk slowly and reach the final destination. For the tortoise, the journey was quite straight and simple and it believed in its own skills and talent rather than what naysayers told him always about its speed.

Walking backward creates more problems not just for you but also for people who come along with you on the journey. You may think it is just you who is failing but it is not that way. When you fail, you let down your family, your friends, and all the people who got associated with you because you had a dream to fulfill. You never know how things take a U-turn when people are not immune to accepting failure as it comes. Some people even go under a lot of mental health and physical health issues just because their plans didn’t work out the way they wanted.

So, instead of falling down by taking huge jumps, why not take the slow and steady process of reaching your goals? At least you can rest assured that wherever you have reached is a part of the bigger picture that the Universe has planned for you. You can even consider the process of walking ahead to be unique and different from others. Yes, there will be questions regarding your success rate because you took another route but as long as you are confident and clear about your objectives in your life, there won’t be situations that will push you back.
