Lucknow: The residents of Kheratiya village in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh heaved a sigh of relief on Monday night when the foresters caged one of the two tigresses that caused panic among villagers, sources said on Tuesday.
Head of Kheratiya village Pargat Singh said the caging of one of the tigresses was a huge relief to the villagers. He appealed to the people against venturing out alone until the second tigress is captured. Both the tigresses are believed to be mother and daughter and blamed for man-animal conflicts in the area.

The foresters were rifling through the woods to catch another tigress. A 13-year-old boy was among those who were killed by the two big cats near Dudhwa forest, said sub-divisional officer Amit Kumar. The incidents of man-animal conflict have been reported from the region over the last months. The tigress attacked a woman Mindo Kaur in Kheratiya village when she was working in her farmland.
