SI suspended for dragging body for post-mortem in Bihar

Patna (Bihar): A video in which a sub-inspector, dragging the body of a man tying it to a rope in Begusarai district of Bihar, recently went viral on social media. Immediately after that, the senior officers of the department suspended the sub-inspector, saying he was taking the body to a hospital for post-mortem, sources said on Saturday. The body of an unidentified person was found on the roadside in Nipania village under Lakho police station on Wednesday.

According to senior superintendent of police Yogendra Kumar, sub-inspector Anil Kumar Singh was asked to take the body to hospital for a post-mortem and to probe the case. The policeman concerned told two sanitary workers to tie the body to a rope and drag it to Begusarai Sadar Hospital for post-mortem, Kumar added.  Since it was an inhuman act, he was suspended.
