Bundi: At least 24 people died in a tragic accident in Bundi district of Rajasthan. Here a bus carrying the baraatis fell into the river. As soon as the incident was reported, people nearby and police-administration officials rushed to the spot and an attempt was made to evacuate the passengers. It is believed that the bus lost control and fell into the river. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has expressed grief over the accident.
According to the information received so far, this bus was carrying about 28 baraatis from Kota to Sawaimadhopur. On the way, the bus driver lost control at around 10 am on a bridge near Papadi village in Lakheri in Bundi district and the bus fell into the Mage river. The locals came to know about the incident and rushed to help and started trying to get people out. After this, senior police officers and relief and rescue workers also reached the spot.
According to the information, all the injured have been admitted to the hospital. Currently, it is estimated that about 24 people have lost their lives. Lakheri sub-inspector Rajendra Kumar said that 13 people died on the spot, while 10 died before reaching the hospital. The dead included 10 women and 3 children. It has been reported that there was no railing on the bridge on which the accident took place.
