Pakistan will remain in gray list till June

Date:

New Delhi: The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has decided to keep Pakistan in the gray list till June due to its failure to overcome Terror funding. At the same time, Pakistan has been warned that if it does not fulfill the 27-point action plan, including terrorism, it will be put on the ‘black list’.

The decision was taken at the Paris Plenary Session meeting of the International Cooperation Review Group (ICRG) of the FATF. At the meeting, the diplomat and the members of the FATF have asked to note how Pakistan is trying to politicize the technical process of the FATF. Apart from this, the FATF has also asked its members to monitor all the business relations and financial transactions of Pakistan.

Pakistan has now been asked to take action on eight areas to avoid the gray list in June. For this, he will have to take action against all 1267 financial institutions and 1373 terrorists. Islamabad will have to stop these terrorists and organizations from raising Terror funds and also to seize their properties to prevent them from doing so.
