Lucknow: Targeting Chief Minister of UP Adityanath, Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Shazil Islam, said, if he (CM) makes any ‘noise’ now, guns of SP will fire bullets instead of emitting smoke. A video of his remark went viral on Sunday. BJP counter-attacked SP by saying, it is the culture of the Samajwadi Party. While the SP has distanced itself from that statement. When the MLA from Bhojipura was asked about it, he said his statement was edited by some news channels.

Islam told that he was saying that the opposition now is much stronger than before. So, it will reply to CM much stronger than before. He added, the CM, who is the leader of the lower house, use to treat the opposition very badly. Now Akhilesh Yadav himself is a leader of the opposition. So Adityanath will not dare to speak in the same tone. If he does, he will get the reply in the same manner as guns fire bullets not emit smoke. He cleared again that he meant to say only that now the opposition is united and stronger so the BJP will get the answer properly.

The viral video of Shazil Islam is of the Friday meeting. Addressing to his party members in his constituency, Islam said, Earlier, we had fewer MLAs in Uttar Pradesh and so Chief Minister Adityanath used to attack us in his speeches. He merely stopped himself from abusing us. Now the party workers shouldn’t be worried anymore. There is strong opposition in the house, led by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. If they do the same, guns of the Samajwadi Party will fire bullets and not emit smoke. He added, Smajawadi Party Chief said that SP will be the voice of the common man not only in the assembly but also on the roads.

BJP took edge in UP Polls
During the elections, BJP set the narrative of increasing ‘gundagardi’ if SP comes to power. BJP rule has given a fearless atmosphere to each citizen of the state. Though BJP’s agenda had some polarization touch too, SP was not able to counter the narrative fully. Now when the remark of Shazil Islam, came in public, again BJP started taking advantage of it.
