Sambhal: The police on Thursday arrested four persons after a 16-year-old girl who was gang-raped committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house on Wednesday, official sources said. One of the culprits fell into a police dragnet on Wednesday, three others were caught on Thursday. According to reports, the girl took the extreme when the family members of the culprits allegedly pressured her to force her parents to settle the case.

A senior police officer said that the investigating officer in the case was suspended. A probe into her suicide began after the family members of the girl registered a complaint on August 15, alleging that the four persons violated the girl.
