4 held for slaughtering Cow to flare up tensions

Sambhal: Four persons accused of slaughtering a cow were arrested on Saturday, police said. Superintendent of Police Chakresh Mishra said that a resident of Pipla Rahampur village, Bhura, had informed the police on July 26 that a head of cattle had been slaughtered on the outskirts of the village. A named FIR was lodged against the cow slaughterers on the same day, he said.

Three persons Bhura, Mohammad Nabi and Taufiq slaughtered a cow and a man named Ramgopal had arranged it for them, the police said, adding that the trio slaughtered the cow and informed the police to flare up communal tension in the month of Sawan.
