26 booked for unlawful mass gathering in house for prayers

Moradabad (UP): Twenty-six people were booked for holding a mass gathering to offer prayers in a house in Dulhepur village in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh without permission of the administration, the police said on Monday. According to superintendent of police Sandeep Kumar, scores of people assembled at the house to offer prayers without any notice. Kumar said that they did so on an earlier occasion and were caused about it, but they did not listen to the administration.

On the grounds of a complaint of a resident of the area, an FIR has been registered against 16 identified and ten unidentified people in connection with the incident. The incident came to light after a video clip of offering prayers went viral on social media.
