Lucknow: The police took a 19-year-old boy into custody for stalking a minor girl and then holding her hostage, official sources said on Monday. The accused followed the girl who lives in the same locality as the boy does. Immediately after the incident, the father of the girl lodged a complaint at the police station, saying that the accused had held his daughter hostage behind a commercial complex. The accused proposed her, but the girl continued to cry and refused his proposal.

Her father said that the girl, somehow, made a call to her family members and, then, they rushed to the spot and rescued her from the clutches of the boy. The girl’s father further said that the accused had called him up and threatened him with dire consequences.According to deputy commissioner of police (East Zone) Prachi Singh, the accused was arrested from Gwari crossing on Sunday evening.
