Prayagraj: The officials of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) brought down 21 minor children from a train as they were reportedly being trafficked from West Bengal and Bihar to other states, sources said on Friday. An inspector of RPF Shiv Kumar Singh said that he had received a tipoff from a voluntary organisation Vachpan Bachao Andolan that children were being trafficked by Mahananda Express.
On getting information, a team of RPF plunged into action and brought down 33 persons including 21 minor children. According to Child Welfare Committee president Akhilesh Mishra, the children had been sent to a home where they were being counselled.
