As countries are overcoming the crisis of the coronavirus outbreak by locking and then unlocking and then again locking their borders to travelers from other nations, the travel, and tourism industry has been affected with a lot of uncertainty at least for the next some months. One needs to keep a check on the changing rules and regulations if he plans to do any sort of essential or non-essential travel in the coming months.
Some countries impose strict quarantine restrictions while others ban travelers who have not taken both doses of the coronavirus vaccine completely. As per the recent reports, the below locations have banned unvaccinated travelers from accessing their borders.
1) Malta is closed for people who have not taken both doses of the COVID-19 vaccines. As per the health ministry of Malta, the country will be the first one to introduce visitors based on their vaccination in the EU. As far as the Delta variant continues to spread, the probability of other countries in the EU following the same restriction may happen.
2) Anguilla had actually reopened its borders in November 2020 for tourists with negative coronavirus test reports, however, when the cases began to rise in April this year, the Caribbean island went under a lockdown for a month. As per the recent reports, Anguilla wants only those tourists who have been vaccinated at least three weeks before their entry to the island nation.
3) Canada is also not hurrying for its tourism reopening as PM Justin Trudeau just stated to media when asked about the country’s policies for vaccinated or unvaccinated travelers by saying that it is not going to happen for quite a while.
4) Spain also has already set the restriction of who can enter the country. It has been reported that the country will allow only residents from European Union (EU) member states and those who come apart from the EU have to show proof of vaccination for arrival.
