1) Teach your children the important things:
If your child is still at a small age but has to compulsorily travel by train or bus to reach their school and attend physical classes, don’t worry. It is all about how you train your child to adapt to the new situations in life. You can start with small steps by telling them to remember their address, parents’ full name, school full name, names and contact numbers of important people, etc. You can also teach them to be fearless in case a bus or train gets stopped in the mid-way while they are traveling to their school or tuition.

2) Don’t panic and train them to live independently:
You cannot be there with your children all the time. In case your child insists or throws tantrums saying that he or she will travel to a school only when you accompany them, then it is time to stop. You need to allot certain tasks to them to start doing their tasks on their own and this includes traveling to their respective schools as well. Your duty is to guide them and not spoonfeed them when they fail to respond in the right way. You can consider calming them when they are in a panic mode but do not listen to their tantrums and encourage them to travel independently. If you are unsure how they will manage everything alone, you can ask them to go ahead and you can go behind and keep watching all that they do during their travel to the school.
3) Keep alternate raincoats and umbrellas:
In case your child comes home telling that he or she lost the umbrella or raincoat on the way home, don’t shout. Instead, help them to locate the lost one and in case you don’t get the same, you can consider giving them an alternate raincoat or umbrella. Tell them to walk slowly and not rush in places that are quite dampened. Show them how they can take shelter outside shops or places in case the rains are too heavy and they have missed their bus or train.
4) Give them directions and you just watch them evolve:
Many times parents think that their children are too small to handle all things alone. So, they try to do each and everything for their children and this includes even packing their school and travel bags. Encourage your child to take their tiffins from the kitchen, ask them if they have carried their identity card, money purse, and also important documents like home keys, mobile number, spectacles, etc. This will help them to learn things at the right age and also evolve in life, thus making them confident to travel at a young age.
