Isn’t it really surprising as well as shocking with the new ways of development in the world all over? Well, as flights and trains are banned to travel to foreign countries due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are at home and really getting bored doing everyday work. And all of a sudden, today we get to read a news item that says that the government of Kerala has come up with a unique initiative to boost global travel.
On Friday, the Kerala government announced that it plans to provide a coronavirus vaccination certificate which will also carry passport numbers for those people who are planning to travel to foreign countries to get a job or get educated, etc.
The state government released an official order which says that “The Government of Kerala will issue a certificate in the prescribed format wherein passport number will be recorded and vaccination certificate issued to a person who wishes to go get travel clearance and requires such certificates”.
Also, the district medical officer in Kerala state has been given the authority to provide vaccination certificates. The circular also read that if a person has taken the Covishield vaccine and wants a clearance for travel, then he will get the second dose after 4 to 6 weeks and need not have to wait for 12 to 16 weeks as per the new rule for the second dose of Covishield vaccine.
The districts will maintain a separate record for such travelers who will be taking the second dose of the Covishield vaccine within a period of fewer than 12 weeks as the Cowin website does not have such separate features for administering the same. As the World Health Organization – WHO has already given clearance for the Covishield vaccine, hence people traveling abroad will be given the same.
