Thailand is open now, they welcome visitors from all over the world, but you have to follow some necessary guidelines.
Coronavirus pandemic badly affects tourism across the world. So, to boost tourism, the government recently opened the Special Tourist Visa scheme through which travellers from all the countries can visit Thailand.

This special visa is unlike other tourist visas. In this scheme, people will be able to stay up to 90 days in Thailand, and they can extend their stay twice, virtually up to 9 months.
How to apply for the Special Tourist Visa

- If you want to apply for the Special Tourist Visa, it will cost you about THB 2,000 (Rs 4,896).
- However, to qualify for a visit, you would need to provide proof of substantial funds.
- Proof of medical and travel insurance with a minimum 100,000 USD (Rs 73,56,140) coverage for Covid-19 medical treatment and minimum coverage of 400,000 THB (Rs 9,79,430) for other medical and accident expenses.
- The insurance must cover the expenses for at least 90 days which is the initial validity of the visa.
Also, you need to submit proof of their long-term residence in Thailand, such as hotel reservations, rental contract or condominium ownership documents. Also, short trips are not possible, as you will have to stay at a state quarantine hotel for 14 days upon the arrival.
The country is now following a standard entry protocol, which includes a negative PCR test result taken 72 hours before arrival, followed by another Covid-19 test on landing.
The Thailand Special Tourist Visa holders can enter Thailand until September 30, 2021.
