India as a country has risen as the top source market for Dubai in the first half of this year. You won’t believe but Dubai had almost 4 lakh visitors from our country out of more than 20 lakh visitors that went to the Emirate from January to May this year. After India comes countries like Russia, France, the US, and Egypt who form the top source markets. Although recently there were many travel restrictions between India and Dubai due to the coronavirus pandemic, still India has emerged to be the top source market to Dubai.
The tourism official of Dubai stated to a media portal that the Indian market is quite significant to them and Dubai will resume tourism as soon as the coronavirus situation stabilizes. The country is positive that business and leisure travelers from India will surely be making their travel to Dubai.
Dubai being the most prominent location across the globe has registered quite attractive numbers in the first half of 2021 despite there were coronavirus lockdown restrictions on travel all around the world. It has also been noticed that Dubai’s market share in international tourism has increased by 0.3 % on a yearly basis.
Dubai has achieved to be a safe destination in the world to travel due to its consistent advertising efforts on Tourism Readiness and following of safety measures and carrying out vaccination at a larger scale. Various strategic measures and important safety measures such as National Disinfection Program, drive-through test centers, surveillance, and contact tracing were conducted to keep all the stakeholders safe. In order to beat the coronavirus away, the country has also ensured that the majority of its interactions are touchless such as hotel check-ins, restaurants displaying the menus as QR codes, or the check-in for flights at the airport.
Another achievement is Dubai managed to conduct all the calendar events safely despite the coronavirus pandemic situation and thus, it aims to pitch itself for being the event capital of the world during the post-coronavirus times.
