If you plan to go trekking, you need to get permission from the Meppady forest office at Chembra Peak. Overnight camping is prohibited as there is a threat from lurking wild animals.

Chembra peak adjoins Nilgiri hills in Tamil Nadu and Vallarimala in Kozhikode. From the town of Meppady, you can reach the peak by walking.
