According to the reports, Redmi Note 12 Discovery edition may remain exclusive to the Chinese. The Redmi Note 12 5G shortened model number of the device is M17. Also, a new POCO phone with model number 22111317PI has been unveiled in the database of the Bureau of Indian Standards. This means the smartphone shares the same shortened M17 model number. Hence, the device will be rebranded as the POCO phone in India.
It is also excepted that the smartphone will be released in November in the country.

The Redmi Note 12 5G has a 6.67-inch OLED display, Full HD+ resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on the Android 12 OS. It has a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
The device has the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 mobile platform. In China, it is available with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage.
