Another big announcement from the tech world is that today its India head, Ajit Mohan, has decided to step down and quit Facebook to join another brand. Ajit Mohan will be joining its rival social media platform Snap as per sources.
Mohan had joined Meta-owned Facebook as the managing director in the beginning of 2019. During his stint with the company, WhatsApp and Instagram have seen huge progress and added over 200 million users in India.
In the past years, Ajit has been an integral part of the company and played a crucial role in shaping and scaling up India operations to lend services to many millions of Indian businesses, partners, and people.
Even after the big move, Facebook remains deeply committed to India and has a capable leadership team to continue on the growth path.
Before joining Meta, Ajit Mohan was associated with Star India and served as the chief executive officer of Star India’s video streaming division Hotstar for four years.
Basis some sources, Snapchat team confirmed and shared Ajit Mohan will be joining them from February 2023 onwards as the president for Asia Pacific Region.
