Tech Desk – Battlegrounds Mobile India was banned in India in July 2022. But now rumors about the game returning to India keep surfacing. There is no official announcement of BGMI relaunching.
However, several YouTube content creators have claimed that the game will be coming back to the Indian fanbase soon.
BGMI ban in India
Krafton’s BGMI was banned by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology under section 69A of the IT Act 2000 over safety concerns. Also, the government banned PUBG, along with other Chinese applications. In July 2022, the games or apps were removed from Play Store.
BGMI pointed out a rebranded version of PUBG, and that Chinese company Tencent was still in charge of the game in the backend. This is also the reason behind BGMI being banned in India.
After the ban, Krafton issued an official statement that the game will return to India and we are trying to solve the issues with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
Moreover, the BGMI relaunch date in India will only confirm by Krafton. As of now, there is no official announcement about the relaunching of BGMI.
According to media reports, several websites are also listing fake download links of BGMI updates. Players shouldn’t rely on rumors and exercise caution while clicking on any such links.
