New Delhi: A bad news has come from the cricket world. Ayanthi Reang, a player of Tripura’s under-19 women’s cricket team, committed suicide by hanging herself. She is found dead at her home.
According to daily newspaper ‘Syandan’, the 16-year-old cricketer was hanged from the roof of his house on Tuesday night. No official information regarding the cause of death has been found.
Ayanti was a member of the Under-19 women’s team of Tripura for the last one year and also played in the T-20 Under-23 age group tournament for the state.
Ayanti belongs to Reang tribe and reside from Tenani village in Udaipur, about 90 km from Agartala. Timura Chanda, secretary of Tripura Cricket Association, mourning the death of Ayanthi said that the state had lost a talented player.
