While on a panel discussion on ARY News ( Pakistani channel) . Akmal made remarks on Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh’s religion.
During the broadcast, Akmal commented on Arshdeep Singh’s performance. His remarks stereotypes about Sikhs. His remark was backlash by former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh. He criticized Akmal’s comments as disrespectful. Not only this Harbhajan highlighted the proud history of Sikhs.
After this strong backlash, Kamran Akmal issued a public apology via Twitter (X)
However, in the T20 World Cup match Arshdeep Singh successfully defending 17 runs in the last over and securing a six-run victory for India.
